Thayer, Camilla Haradon Died peacefully on June 29, 2014 after a brief illness. Beloved daughter of Camilla Winship Shapleigh and the late John Alden Thayer, Jr. and step daughter of the late John B. Shapleigh; loving sister of Melissa Hummel (Rick) of St. Louis, Holly Eggert (Charles) of Boulder, CO and stepsisters Katharine Kolowich, Barbara Murphy (Art), Louise Shapleigh; stepbrother John C. Shapleigh (Anne); dear aunt of Charles and Melissa Eggert and Camilla Buckley; niece of Anne Ransom and Mary McGeary. She also leaves her adored dog, Fenn. She was preceded in death by her sister, Alida Davis Thayer. Camilla was born in 1949 and spent her childhood in New Canaan, CT. She graduated from Manhattanville College in 1973 and attended the Philadelphia College of Art. A talented painter, writer and teacher, she taught at Rippowam Cisqua School in Bedford, N.Y. for many years and inspired many young artists. During her teaching years she spent summers in Cape Breton where she had close friends. After she retired, she lived in Danbury and in Saint Augustine Beach, Florida. Services: A Memorial Service to celebrate her life and burial will be held at a later date in New Canaan, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society. Published in St. Louis Post-Dispatch on July 8, 2014.

Becky Shingleton (Everhart)

Catsy, you are missed.  Catsy and I used to have lunches together with Jim Sullivan and Les Mosley when I was working part time and could meet them for a get together.  Now all three of them are gone.  So sad.  It was an honor becoming such good friends with Catsy.  Her artistic talent was amazing.  Miss you, friend.
